Fidelity Investments Inc has joined IC3, the Initiative for CryptoCurrencies & Contracts which includes universities and technology companies to conduct research aimed at developing blockchain applications. FinTech and RegTech solutions require secure compliance to meet industry standards in the market. Having a large asset manager like Fidelity helps drive the market solutions to be deployed. IC3 is located at the Jacobs Technion-Cornell Institute at Cornell Tech in New York City.
Fidelity Labs, the innovation arm of asset manager Fidelity, will be a member of IC3 along with Cornell University, University of California at Berkeley, the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, the Technion, IBM Corp and Intel Corp.
